The Caley invited the Help Yourself Grow 2017-2018 Grow and Learn award recipients to Greenbank Gardens to receive their pin badges. The group arrived early afternoon and were welcomed by Jean Gavin from The Caley and Simon Jones from the National Trust Scotland. The Help Yourself Grow cookery trainees took part in the “Soup Off” competition to create the best soup held at Castlemilk Parish Church on the 9th of November. The trainees made some delicious minestrone soup using the Help Yourself Grow secret recipe. Help Yourself Grow worked in partnership with the management committee of the Birgidale Complex to host the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on the 28th September in aid of cancer support. The gardening groups made some natural bath products and table displays for the tombola, along with a selection of delicious items made by the cookery groups including tablet, truffles
